Austin College enjoys a place in the state’s history as the oldest institution of higher education in Texas. As the City of Sherman is evolving, so must the campus – to engage students, attract the best faculty, and welcome the community.

Studio Outside prepared a campus landscape framework plan to prioritize the core of the campus experience and gradually redevelop areas along the perimeter. Working with campus leadership and student representatives, the plan responds to goals related to recruiting & first impressions, social areas, graduation festivities, and alumni events. Key initiatives include landscape planting and maintenance standards, a renovation of the historical Live Oak Mall, and redevelopment plans for the four primary quads in the campus core. Together these will reposition the campus for the next generation of students to enjoy.
